How it works

Three steps, then it runs itself

Set the rules once when you create the mandal. After that, contributions, interest and payouts calculate themselves every month.

  1. 01

    Create or join

The Chairman sets the contribution, interest rate and time window. Members join by scanning a QR code or entering an 8-character invite code.

  2. 02

    Contribute & request loans

Every member sees their monthly amount and pays in. Anyone can request a loan — interest and the monthly estimate are calculated before they even ask.

  3. 03

    Track & get paid out

Everyone sees the fund, active loans and their own history in real time. When the cycle ends, the payout splits automatically by contribution share.

Everything the chopdo did

Built for how a mandal actually runs

Every page of the old register, as a screen — plus the calculations nobody enjoyed doing by hand.

Loans at interest

Members request loans; the Chairman or Vice Chairman disburses. Interest accrues monthly and folds into everyone’s running total automatically.

Penalties, if you use them

Set an optional per-unit penalty for late contributions. It calculates itself — override it by hand whenever a real exception comes up.

Migrate your paper history

Switching mid-cycle? Bring in months already completed, interest already paid, and loans already outstanding — in three guided steps.

Monthly & all-time reports

A clean PDF once every member has paid for the month, or a full history at any time — the same numbers everyone can already see in the app.

Chairman & Vice Chairman roles

Money movements need a second set of eyes. Assign a Vice Chairman so approvals and disbursals aren’t resting on one person.

Bilingual, not translated later

Every screen, every number, every date is written natively in English and Gujarati — including Gujarati numerals where the book always used them.

Loans

Know the number before you ask

Every loan request shows the monthly payment estimate up front — this loan’s interest, plus interest already running on any existing loans — so nobody signs up for a number they haven’t seen.

  • Interest calculated automatically at the mandal’s set rate
  • Existing loan interest folds into the new estimate
  • Chairman or Vice Chairman confirms before disbursal

The same math the app uses to close every month.

Migration

Switching mid-cycle costs three steps

Once every member has joined, walk through the mandal’s history so far — months completed, interest already paid, loans already outstanding — and Mandali picks up exactly where the paper book left off.

  • Month count comes from the mandal’s start date — no manual counting
  • Enter interest paid and loan balance per member, exactly as recorded
  • Review the whole summary before anything is saved for good

New mandal? Skip this — there’s nothing to bring over.

Settlement sessions

Collect repayments in one focused window

Open a 15-minute settlement session and every member with an active loan can pay in. The Vice Chairman confirms, and the fund updates the moment collection closes — no separate reconciliation later.

  • A visible countdown keeps the session focused
  • Vice Chairman approval before anything posts to the ledger
  • Live status so the Chairman sees who’s left to collect from

Built for the fifteen minutes after everyone shows up.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is Mandali free to use?

Yes. Creating and joining mandals, tracking contributions, loans, interest, penalties and payouts costs nothing.

Can we switch from our paper chopdo partway through a cycle?

Yes — once every member has joined, the Chairman can add the mandal’s history so far: months completed, interest paid, and any loans already outstanding, in three guided steps.

Who can approve loans and disbursals?

The Chairman, and a Vice Chairman if one is assigned. Keeping approvals to these roles means money movements always have a second set of eyes.

How is the final payout calculated?

When a mandal ends, the remaining fund splits proportionally by each member’s total contribution share — automatically, the same way every month’s numbers were calculated.

Does everything work in Gujarati?

Yes — every screen, label, date and number, including Gujarati numerals where the paper book used them. Switch languages any time from the toggle in the header.

How do members join a mandal?

By scanning a QR code or entering the 8-character invite code the Chairman shares. Requests made within 10 minutes of the mandal’s creation are auto-approved; after that, the Chairman approves each one.
